City of Newcastle Unit Receives O'Brien Donation

18 August 2008, 10:27am

The SES City of Newcastle Unit has received a donation of $8000 of equipment from SES corporate partner O'Brien.

SES corporate partner O'Brien has presented the City of Newcastle SES Unit with donated lighting worth $8,000 in a ceremony conducted at the O'Brien office in Newcastle on Saturday. The donation was accompanied by a charity repair day with 63 vehicles attending the O'Brien facility for windscreen repairs.

The lighting presented to the City of Newcastle SES comprised two LED floodlight units with tripods. These lighting units provide bright light without excessive heat generation, and are ideal for night-time operational activities such as rescue and storm and flood response.

Also donated to the unit were the proceeds of the windscreen repairs, being just over $2200.

SES volunteers who attended the repair day ran a BBQ as well as having on display several vehicles, a storm trailer and a floodboat.

Thanks to O'Brien for their generous support of the City of Newcastle Unit.
