Each of the SES' seventeen regions across NSW conducts an annual conference at which representatives from each SES unit in the region meet to discuss issues and procedures and to recognise individual volunteer achievement.
The Lachlan Region Conference was conducted over the weekend of the 16th and 17th August in the town of Forbes. The conference was addressed by SES Director General Brigadier Philip McNamara with a media hypothetical workshop conducted by SES State Headquarters Public Communication Section staff.
A number of SES volunteers received awards which were presented to them by the SES Director General. These awards represented over 135 years of community service. These volunteers are:
15 Year Long Service - Aaron Kelly (Parkes Unit), Sandy Clayton (Lachlan Region Headquarters), Phillip Snow (Parkes Unit), Ray Cawthorne (Grenfell Unit), Rodney Gavin (Gooloogong Unit), Norman Cox (Lachlan Region Headquarters) and Rodney Ford (Parkes Unit).
Honorary Life Membership - John Harris (Peak Hill Unit)
Director General's Commendation - Sandy Clayton (Lachlan Region Headquarters).
Congratulations to all of the award recipients.
