The New South Wales State Emergency Service has conducted an exercise at its Regent Street Wollongong State Headquarters to test internal pandemic procedures.
The exercise was conducted from 6am until 10am on Friday the 8th of August with staff arriving at SES State Headquarters being screened for flu-like symptoms. This included answering a series of questions and having their temperature taken before washing their hands in a special disinfectant prior to entering the building. Staff from building owner Martin Morris Jones and other tenants also participated.
According to SES Occupational Health and Safety Officer Melissa Pollock, the exercise successfully tested internal SES procedures in screening staff members in the unlikely event of an influenza pandemic.
